IEEE 802.11y is a variant of the IEEE 802.11 WiFi standard for wireless local area networks. IEEE 802.11y operates in the 3650-3700 MHz band. This version of the 802.11 standard is developed especially for the USA. IEEE 802.11y is based on the 802.11a standard, including transmit power control (TPC) and dynamic frequency selection (DFS) which are defined in IEEE 802.11h.
