MPEG-7 is a standard developed by the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG). Unlike MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4, MPEG-7 does not define compression algorithms. MPEG-7, formally named "Multimedia Content Description Interface", is a standard for content representation. MPEG-7 describes the multimedia content data. This description can be used for a broad range of applications such as searching in a database with movies, management of multimedia, browsing, filtering and processing.
