APCO25

APCO25 is a digital trunked radio system for the public safety services. APCO25 is developed by the U.S. based Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials International Inc. (APCO).

APCO25 is an open standard based on FDMA modulation and a channel width of 12,5 kHz. APCO25 phase 2 defines a channel width of only 6,25 kHz. The system defines both trunked and conventional modes of operation. Encryption to ensure voice security is optional.
