Windows Media Audio

Windows Media Audio (WMA) is a encoding method for the compression of digital audio. According to Microsoft is the WMA compression tehnique twice as efficient as MP3, resulting in a file of only half the size for an audio clip with the same quality.

WMA provides also for a Digital Rights Management (DRM) mechanism, so the audio clip can only be played, stored or burned on CD if the owner has acquired the rights to do so.
