NFC

Nederlands

Near Field Communication is a short-range wireless connectivity technology. NFC evolved from a combination of existing contactless identification and interconnection technologies. Before a transmission starts identification of the equipment willl take place. This allows users to perform safe contanctless transactions. NFC can be used with a variety of devices. For example, an NFC enabled mobile phone can be used as an electronic wallet or digital cameras can send their photos to a TV set with just a single touch.

NFC operates at 13,56 MHz over a typical distance of a few centimeter. Data rates are 106, 212 or 424 Kb/s. NFC can also be used as an identification technology, after which a wireless connection is made with a higher data rate using another technology.
