IPX - IP Packet eXchange

IPX (IP Packet eXchange) is an initiative from the GSM Association to interconnect the various mobile networks through the use of common agreed technical specifications based on IP. IPX is essentially a virtual private Internet to exchange IP-based traffic, including both person-to-person communications and content, securely and with a guaranteed quality of service between mobile operators and service providers.

The IPX creates the mechanism for managing IP traffic to guaranteed service level agreements (SLAs), enabling service providers to offer existing services more efficiently by ensuring both quality and security. The IPX will open up the market for the development of new services and new connections.
