HomePlug Powerline Alliance

The HomePlug Powerline Alliance is an industry association that is responsible for the creation of specifications to use power outlets and electrical wires to connect elelectronic devices to each other and to the Internet. The Alliance was formed in March 2000 by thirteen companies. The first specification, HomePlug 1.0, was issued in June 2001.
