Firewall

A firewall is a combination of hardware and software that enforces a boundary between two or more networks. A firewall is e.g. used to limit the exposure of a computer or computer network to an attack from an outside network.

A firewall can also be used to prevent computer programs to access the outside world or for certain types of data streams to enter, e.g. to block listening to internet radio from a companies intranet.
